Bonding Hearts are an amazing way for parents and babies to bond while a child has a NICU stay. Mothers and fathers may wear a heart inside a shirt for a time and then the hearts are taken to the NICU and placed in the isolette with the baby. This allows the baby to smell and bond with the parents in such a sweet way.

Premature babies are especially sensitive to light and sound. Too much stimulation can interfere with sleep, weight gain, and overall development. Thicker, layered isolette covers designed with dark, solid colors on the side facing the baby help reduce noise, light, and visual stimulation, creating a calmer environment that supports growth and development similar to the womb.

Often referred to as “octopals,” these therapeutic crocheted toys are designed for premature babies in the NICU. The tentacles resemble the umbilical cord, offering comfort and helping babies feel secure while receiving medical care.
