September Is NICU Awareness Month
Awareness. Hope. Action.
Most parents have never even heard the word NICU until the day they're standing in one, meeting their baby in an isolette instead of at home. There's no manual for that moment. Too often, there's no one nearby who understands it either. That's the gap Project NICU was built to close. Since we started, we've walked alongside more than 56,000 families so they didn't have to go through it alone. This month, we'd love for you to walk with us too.
Here's everything happening this September, in order.
Support, Whenever You Need It
Our virtual support groups run all year long, and this month we especially want every family to know they're there. Whether you're in the thick of a NICU stay or years past it, there's a group for you.

A day to say thank you to the people who show up for these babies and families every single shift.
NICU Remembrance Day
A quiet and important day to honor the babies who didn't come home, and the families who carry them with them always.
NICU Giving Day
Share your why, share your journey, and give, big or small. Every gift funds a care package, a counseling session, or a moment of support for a family in the NICU right now.
Give NowNICU Staff Appreciation Day
One more chance this month to thank the hospital teams caring for these babies around the clock.
Sibling Support Day
A day for the brothers and sisters who wait in hallways and waiting rooms too, often without anyone checking in on how they're doing.
NICU Awareness Day
Wear green, tag us, and use #NICUAwarenessMonth. This is the biggest day of the month for us, when our reach is loudest and ambassadors across the country stand up together for NICU families.
